As for Ada, I'll run another regression test, just to be sure. Including
Java seems nice to me. I've played a bit with it and had no problems.

IMHO, only C/C++ should be the core of MinGW GCC with other "language packs" downloadable as needed - GCJ itself is rather large (and getting bigger every day). Even the self-installing "MinGW" exe might want to do something like IE setup (or Cygwin setup) where it only gets the components that the user has selected (but gcc-core, binutils, mingw-runtime and w32api included and made mandatory). ObjC is small (2-3 MB). Fortran is a sentimental favourite (and the reason I downloaded mingw in the first place) and is also quite small. Ada, by itself as about as large as C,C++,ObjC and Fortran combined. I think it should work because in 3.2, the "core" GCC was built with "--enable-languages=f77,c++,objc,ada" and still one could drop in the GCJ binaries and things started working. IMHO Java should be separate from core for now, and if someone complains that, e.g., requiring "gcj" causes some major application to fail to build (which seems unlikely) then we can consider adding it to core. On the other hand, I would guess that the number of MinGW users interested in Java would be far more than those interested in Objective-C and probably Fortran. The only thing that may be of concern is if the configuration scripts for gcj differ from the rest of gcc (apart from the --enable-targets) Danny
