It's a requirement of SourceForge themselves. It is logical; if every
project administrator were permitted to drop their own administrative
control attribute, there could be a real danger of a project being left
with no administrator at all -- an untenable state of affairs.

I'm saddened that you feel the need to distance yourself from MinGW, in
this way; indeed, I fear for the future of the project, without you at
the helm to look after GCC development. However, I'm sure that you
have your reasons, and I respect them.
I'm sure all here will wish to offer a sincere `Thank you', for all the
work you've put in during your association with MinGW. If you feel, at
some future time, that you would like to participate again, you will be
most welcome.
