Hi!
For separating two Linux systems, I use UML. First I was astonished;
everything worked wonderful.
But in the last time (I can't tell you exactly when) UML begins to
become mad. The big problem is that the error will be very hard to
find:
Configuration:
UML: 2.4.23-1um
Host: 2.4.23 with SKAS
1.) Normally I boot UML in background and log in with ssh.
(sshd version OpenSSH_3.4p1 Debian 1:3.4p1-1.woody.3)
But I get very often "Connection lost", most time right
after logging in. Sometimes also after that very infrequently.
I also log into my host system via ssh. When I then call
UML directly by issuing "./linux (...)" even then the whole
connection seem to crash (including the host connection).
But the machine is still alive. I can reconnect and ping
and so on.
2.) Very infrequently I get "Segmention faults" with perl.
For example when I call
perl -MCPAN -e shell
I got a segmention fault yesterday; today it works.
This segmention faults also occur on all important perl
scripts I've written.
I know, this is very little information! But the problem
is: I also do not know more. If you need more info I'm
very happy to provide it if I can.
The big problem is that I cannot use UML if it does not
work for 100% and till now I've built up everything
to work with UML :-(
Maybe there's a small hope that you can help me??
:-))
