This is a rework of a previous post that got no response. I believe
that I know why, so lets try again. Please...
I have downgraded from Apache 2 back to Apache 1.3 and also have
downgraded from Webware 0.8 to 0.7
Now on my Gentoo system, Webware/WebKit is running just as it does on my
debian server.
OK, so here is the problem. Why does the upgrade from Webware 0.7 to
Webware 0.8 BREAK the server???
It fails to start because it is trying to find the config file named
'AppServer.config but it is using an incorrect path.
It is trying to find it in the directory '/pub/httpd/Configs/' when it
should be looking in '/pub/httpd/myapp/Configs/'
The ONLY change in setup is the version of Webware.

Subject: WebWare 0.8 installation problem
Date: 11 May 2003 16:48:26 -0500
Currently running 0.7 on a debian system. All is well.
Next, installed 0.8 on my gentoo system. All is NOT well.
Installed per instructions, also did the MakeAppWorkDir.
My WebWare/WebKit is in /usr/local/WebWare/WebKit/...
My app is in /pub/httpd/myapp/...
Edited the AppServer.config and Application.config to match my 0.7
setup.
Next cd into /pub/httpd/myapp/ which is the dir that contains the
directory /Configs and all of the other stuff that MakeAppWorkDir
builds.
>From this directory, I issue the ./AppServer command, running as root
user for this initial testing.
It fails to start because it is trying to find the config file named
'AppServer.config.
It is trying to find it in the directory '/pub/httpd/Configs/' when it
should be looking in '/pub/httpd/myapp/Configs/'
I do not know what I (1) did wrong, or (2) what has changed from 0.7 to
0.8 that got me into this trouble.
Please help!
Thanks & regards
