I'm an active Debian developer, though non of them is a python package.
I've already did an initial work to package Webware, currently only
mod_webkit is getting built.
Federico Di Gregorio filed an ITP (Intent To Package) on webware
already, see: http://bugs.debian.org/95442
The current way Webware works and gets setup is hard to install in an
orderly way as the Debian policy dictates so I've halted my work until
distutils will be used.
If someone will switch Webware to distutils, I'll be able to continue to
work on the Debian package. Or if someone else is interested in
maintaining such a package, I'm willing to help technically with
packaging or advocating/sponsoring for the NM (New Maintainer) process
