Just to add some info:
in th demo system online, I create the PO #6

and these are the transactions

are those fine? according to me the Short-Term Loan
has to have the sum of the other 3, is that right?

Hi Andy,

webERP doesn't have the department GL codes subdivisions - albeit that a 
similar function can be acheived with the number sequence.

The account sections and account groups are how this departmental division is 
acheived. This is much more flexible since a mistake in the GL code is easily 
fixed by changing the account group of the account.

Not sure I understand entirely.  Say for example I have two inventory 
accounts as follows

401-410-1400-00
401-415-1400-00

Only differentiated by the department segment.  How would I set 
something like that up in webERP?  It won't allow me to add two 1400 
accounts with only differing account groups.  And I see that the account 
section is part of the group configuration, but I don't understand how 
it is used exactly.

You'd only need to do this if the bank paid their commission on a credit ba=
sis=20
=2D ie it was earned ... you invoice it allow a period for payment and you =
need=20
to keep track of how much they owe you and what your income was over a peri=
od=20
irrespective of how much is outstanding to be paid by the bank.

You do not need to use the COGS postings if they are not required ...=20
typically commission would not have a physical cost of goods sold - there a=
re=20
often no goods involved in service type activities.

Just to be sure I followed the following instructions in the manual: 
Selecting an Order To Invoice

   All invoices require a sales order to be entered first.

   From the main menu select the orders tab. Select Outstanding
   Sales Orders Maintenance. This page shows all the orders
   outstanding. If the order number is known it can be entered
   on this screen to select the order to invoice. Hit search
   orders and the order should show below, together with links
   to modify the order, print the packing slip and to invoice.
   Click the link to invoice the order.

Here I get the blank screen and can't continue to the next step.  I 
have even printed the packing slip, just in case.  I have 
display_errors on in php but don't get an error.  The only error is in 
httpd-error.log that I reported above.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, a line from those who 
are using 3.02 and can confirm that it is working would be great, too.  
At this stage, feel free to flame me, but please with a pointer to the 
solution ;)

That didn't do it for me but I was finally able to use the

mysql databasename < upgrade3.01-3.02.sql

script successfully.  I found a solution that I would assume is because 
of my version of MySQL 4.1.14 but am not sure.  All I had to do was add 
and enclose the script with what would seem to be compatability lines, 
but since my knowledge of mysql on a scale of 1 to 10 would be about a 
-3, I am only making a totally unknowledgeable guess.

My next problem is with taxes.  When I try to enter a suppliers invoice 
under supplier transactions, I am getting:

Database Error : The taxes and rates for this item could not be 
retreived because
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds 
to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ORDER BY 
taxgrouptaxes.calculationorder' at line 14

Database SQL Failure : The SQL that failed was
SELECT taxgrouptaxes.calculationorder, taxauthorities.description, 
taxgrouptaxes.taxauthid, taxauthorities.purchtaxglaccount, 
taxgrouptaxes.taxontax, taxauthrates.taxrate FROM taxauthrates INNER 
JOIN taxgrouptaxes ON taxauthrates.taxauthority=taxgrouptaxes.taxauthid 
INNER JOIN taxauthorities ON 
taxauthrates.taxauthority=taxauthorities.taxid WHERE

I'm attaching the patch that I made against cvs, just in case there is 
anyone else with the same problem and that knows as little as I about 
the newer mysql version differences.

I still trying to find the error generated when trying to enter a 
suppliers invoice.

This might be because the info required for the new tax system needs to be set 
up. Check out the tax provinces - you only need one for each 
warehouse/location that are in different provinces if you have a warehouse in 
London and one in Liverpool then you only need one (dispatch) tax province - 
ie UK Inland Revenue.

Then once you've created a tax province you'll need to define the tax 
categories appropriate and the tax groups applicable - ie the groupings of 
tax authorities that may apply to a single transaction. Most of us happily 
only need to deal with one tax authority tax groups. However, the new 3.02 
system needs to be setup to deal with your situation.

exactly is that field, I just can't find it.

I have the item code, the internal one (When I add a
new item) but where do I setup the supplier's item
code in order to calculate my profits and to keep a
track of y purchases.

I set up our catalogue one partcode at a time. I don't think there is any
specific automated way of uploading many different partcodes.

No specific automated way true .... but it is relatively straight forward to 
import stock into webERP using tools like MS Access or CSV files - all the 
base information about stock categories and units of measure must be set up 
first of course and the run Z_MakeStockLocns.php
