Hi, =20 I made console interface for Buildap, please try it and feedback me,=20 Update CVS, build with ANT, change to dist directory start console.bat.=20 You also can run it in console mode from ANT using 'ant console' command, but it mixes with ANT outputs so I prefer plain console. =20 Console interface was necessary for easy installing projects and running them directly from console, it is very suitable for deploying web applications under Unix systems. I have used similar commands as OSGI has, startup, install start shutdown, etc. Type help and see how to use it.=20 =20 =20 @Hovhannes, please update your Buildap mailing lists e-mail address at SF.net it is old. =20 Aram and Hayk you also can subscribe at Buildap's mailing lists ... =20 =20 Thank you, Artavazd=20 =20 |

=20 Hi All, =20 Sorry for delay in response to the problem.=20 There was a bug in 0.2.3 hopefully it is corrected and now there is 0.2.4 available at http://www.buildap.com/SA2004Fall (you'll also find bug reason and explanation) so please try with this one. Whether you do please create new project or update all files from CVS if you use sample projects, because bug was related to file formats. =20 Bug connected UTF8 format (there is problem with UTF8 format some file editors put 3 invisible bytes called Byte Order Mark (BOM) bytes EF, BB, BF, for UTF-8, which cause XML parsers fail.)=20 See http://www.i18ngurus.com/encyclopedia/byte_order_mark.html and http://p2p.wrox.com/archive/xslt/2002-11/79.asp=20 =20 =20 =20 Arto=20 =20 |

Hi Ken, When you push 'Run' button it change state of other buttons also which mean you can use them, but if state automatically goes back (runtime buttons become disabled) that mean there is a problem with creating runtime (just to clarify runtime for the loaded project created & controlled in separate JVM) First check 'jars' folder where all necessary jars should be located (for example if you use 'Jscript' part in your project it is uses 'js.jar', which should be located in 'jars' folder for runtime to be able to located depended classes etc. and depended resources (files etc) should be relative to project root. Hi All, =20 I think we should develop some uniform error reporting mechanism.=20 =20 =20 Cases: 1. Condition is not met for processing IN event, should notify external world through firing ERROR OUT event (error code should explain reason) =20 2. Java exception rose during processing some IN event, should notify external world through firing ERROR OUT event (error code should explain reason, and supply additional info as stack trace or custom Exception object) =20 3. Problem occurred during processing part's internal logic, should notify external world through firing ERROR OUT event (error code should explain reason, and supply additional info as stack trace or custom Exception object) =20 How we can explain these and other cases using one ERROR out pin. =20 My Suggestion to have format (int errorType, String message, Object otherInfo)=20 errorType - is constants indicating cases above, message - custom report of problem otherInfo - can be java Exception object or uniform Buildap Exception object (extended from standard Exception), which can pass java related exception trace, cause etc. information. =20 Arto =20 =20 |

Hi Emory, Your notation is right but, after loading HelloWorld example your should: First run it using "Run" button from project toolbar menu. Second push "Event" button from project toolbar menu. Third fire START inpin NOTE: message box is not modal and in most cases it appears behind your active window, so to see it you should minimize your windows. Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |
