I applied patch  2.0p2.

The config worked well,  here for your convenience:

Tcl Static Library Spec....... : /usr/lib/libtcl8.4.a
Tk Library Spec............... : -L/usr/lib -ltk8.4
Tk Static Library Spec........ : /usr/lib/libtk8.4.a
Itcl Library Spec............. : -L/usr/lib/itcl3.3 -litcl3.3
Itcl Static Library Spec...... : /usr/lib/libitcl3.3.a
BLT Library Spec.............. : blt/libBLT.a
BLT Static Library Spec....... : blt/libBLT.a

Also make worked well, but the testdrive produces an error, something  
flashes up and disappears immediately.
Here the error:
./testdrive: line 6: 26805 Speicherzugriffsfehler  ./tkdesksh tkdesk 
-default

I manage to compile TkDesk2.0 this way :

- Remove the itcl 3.2.x rpm from Mandrake 9.2.

- Be sure you've installed tcl and tk 8.4.2 rpms

- Get tcl 8.4.2 and tk 8.4.2 from tcltk site and uncompress them in a temp
directory. Nothing else.

- Get itcl 3.2.1 from site and uncompress it in the same temp directory.

- Go in /usr/lib, edit tkConfig.sh , line 68, replace :

	TK_SRC_DIR='/home/blablabla.../tk8.4.2'

	with TK_SRC_DIR='/your temp directory/tk8.4.2'

- Go in /usr/lib, edit tclConfig.sh , line 149, replace :

	TCL_SRC_DIR='/home/blablabla.../tk8.4.2'

	with TCL_SRC_DIR='/your temp directory/tcl8.4.2'

- Run configure then make then make install or for more "consistency",
copy the following files in /usr/lib directory :
	libitcl3.2.so
	libitk3.2.so
	libitkstub3.2.a
	libitclstub3.2.a

- Get the BLT rpms from your installation CD or rpm site and install them.

- Uncompress TkDesk2.0, run ./configure --with-blt=/usr/lib

- Test with ./testdrive

- If everything ok, make install

It just defaults to the included BLT source, which does not work with
Tcl/Tk 8.4.  No great mystery.  This has already been fixed for version
2.1, which will hopefully be released sometime during this millennium.

You can send them to me and/or the mailing list.  Using the list is good
because someone else may have already solved your problem.

FYI, I notice that you have been using "tkdesk-users-request@..."  I think
the correct address is "tkdesk-users@...".

Hello all,

             Under the new SUSE 9.1 insallation, once you try install 
the tkdesk 2.0, you unpack the file and the ./configure works perfectly.
             Anyhow in case _you missed to install 
XFree86-devel-4.3.99.902-40.i586.rpm which contains the Xlib.h,_ your 
"make"  step will give you a large and long list of parsing errors in 
tk.h and other include files. This comes as a mistery to me, a sort of " 
I stop the car and the frige does not work now" ;-).
             *Can someone explain me this?*
              But this is not all.

             The make step worked (because I installed the package) but 
./testdrive step did NOT work. The ./testdrive gived this:

              Also under the same SUSE 9.1 the tkdesk 1.2.8  does not 
start because the libictl.so is missing while tkdesk versions earlier 
the tkdesk 1.2.8, like a simple tkdesk 1.2, would simply crash with a 
segmentation fault. These are staically linked verosn that are supposed 
to work without and TCL / TK installed.
                                        so if anyone can help me really, 
please do....friendly yours I.

That should be ./configure --with-blt=/usr/lib
