Dear Alberto Sorry to bug you with such trivial questions but I really wish I can have your system running so please advise. 1) I don't get any pop-up message like what appears in demo page. What is the possible reason? 2) Now I can add user(maybe because of the username problem, I am not sure coz suddenly it just can!!!) but sometimes page redirected to login page sometimes just back to user list. Is this correct? 3) I am not able to delete item. I click REMOVE button but nothing happens. I haven't try the access point function coz I think I need to settle the above first. Please help!!!! :) From: Alberto Basso [mailto:alb...@gm...] Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 2014 10:59 PM To: sum...@li... About your questions: There is only one place where the protocol is managed, look at Network->Nodes->select your node->Protocol But I don't think is your situation... Probably it's a redirect of your webserver, through for eg. a rule like this: RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}<https://%25%7bHTTP_HOST%7d%25%7bREQUEST_URI%7d> About https certs... Ther isn't a solution for invalid or self signed certs, the client browser validate them and display the alert message with these differences: - FireFox: after alert message you can accept an "exception" for this certificate/domain and the message for this client is omitted for next communications. - Chrome Like: you cannot confirm an exception like FF, the alert message is always displayed for each access! Other questions: 1) Sumo is made to make simple usage in a general purpose hosting environments, so, it expects that the application is installed in the document root of your webserver, and it try to deduce all paths. However is possible to configure it for working not in a common way, but you should know how your webserver works, and should be can make changes (not ever possible in all hosting providers). 2) Yes, but you must create a personalized access page, including your desired meta tags, etc... to guarantee indexing, because in a simple manner it blocks your page content displaying his login template. Alb. 2014-02-25 5:10 GMT+01:00 Loke Eng Hui <eng...@ob...<mailto:eng...@ob...>>: Dear sir, Thank you for creating such a great tool which seems to fit my need in open source environment. A few extra questions below : 1) I can't seem to get the proper layout (the reference links are weird) when I install sumo folder under virtual directory. Dear Alberto It's localhost mysql. The thing is, I can add GROUP (though I just found out I can't remove?!) but I couldn't add USER. Then after I restarted my computer today, I can add. But I can't DELETE group or user. Is it correct that I just click the group/user to show detail, then click the remove button on top? However, nothing happen?! Hope you can help me figure out what I have done wrong. I tested it on DEMO and it works. So I must have missed out sth. Ok Michael, I suppose your problem is that you would logout immediately after the submit to an authenticated Sumo page, but this page cannot logout itself because cannot destroy the user session at the same time. I do not know if I was clear enough, but maybe this is a solution for you... Put this javascript code at the end of your page, but before the tag </body>: <script> window.location = '?sumo_action=logout'; </script> </body> <!-- BEFORE HERE --> This javascript snippet redirect the user to the same page but force Sumo to logout, than the user should be re-login. If you want that the user waits some second before the logout you can use this snippet: <script> setTimeout(function(){ window.location = '?sumo_action=logout'; }, 1000); </script> Where 1000 is the time in millisec. Try this and give me your feedback! Alberto 2014-02-18 16:36 GMT+01:00 Michael Workman <wor...@gm...>: > Thanks for your reply. Thanks for your reply. Very gracious of you to take the time. I hit my head and said "Duh" with your suggestions. I have been programming long enough (40 yrs) so that i should have thought of that. HOWEVER, I must be going brain dead because i put in the action as follows: <form action="index.php?sumo_action=logout" class="form" > but for some reason that i cannot explain the first time the form is refreshed it does ask for security...but after i submit...and redisplay the form via header command.... it does not go through the security again...keeps me logged in. I tried the following too, adding it to form action...that did not work either. onsubmit="javascript:sumo_user_logout();" Cannot think of where to put your javascript code but what it will execute before the submit takes place ...<YOUR HTML CODE>... <script> window.location = '?sumo_action=logout'; </script> I am 65..maybe i am just getting too old to program anymore :) I like problem solving...but i am just getting too dense i guess. :) On Tue, Feb 18, 2014 at 4:46 AM, Alberto Basso <alb...@gm...>wrote: > Hi Michael, > there are different ways to to this, for eg: > > - try to add '?sumo_action=logout' in your form action > - use a javascript code to redirect your form page with the above > parameter, like: > > ...<YOUR HTML CODE>... > <script> > window.location = '?sumo_action=logout'; > </script> > > Have a nice day! > Alberto > > > > > > > > 2014-02-15 10:47 GMT+01:00 Michael Workman <wor...@gm...>: > >> I want to use sumo with my forms... Hi Michael, there are different ways to to this, for eg: - try to add '?sumo_action=logout' in your form action - use a javascript code to redirect your form page with the above parameter, like: ...<YOUR HTML CODE>... <script> window.location = '?sumo_action=logout'; </script> Have a nice day! Hi Théo, thanks for using this my (old) software! About your problem, yes I see from your screensots that any resource urls (css, images, ...), starts looking at "/homez.379/...", then all resources must be availables from this path. But, I see from the attribute "action" of the login form the url " http://files.intelibox.ch" (are you Swiss?), and I suppose this is the right path. So, check your Sumo and web server configuration, and remember that Sumo try to resolve the right path of all required resources (css, images...), but to do that is better don't change the directory structure of the templates. About the logout problem I should have more information. In any case, if you don't resolve these issues, write me! Have a nice day! Hi Alberto, I've found that the php version of my ISP are too old. Now I have the newer version of PHP and this error doesn't appears. When change the version, need to replace: *set_magic_quotes_runtime(0);* to *ini_set('magic_quotes_runtime', 0); *in the sumo.php and inc.setup.php files; now runs very good without errors. I am new to this list and I am not sure if this makes sense. My host that I am installing sumo to is http://dev1.doucet-adams.com This is a development page for a website im building for a client. I changed the database file and created all the database tables Then I uploaded sumo to http://dev1.doucet-adams.com/sumo and went to the page. Now for some reason in my address bar it shows https://dev1.doucet-adams.com/dev1/sumo First of all I don't have a certificate so I don't want to use https right now And second why does it go to dev1/sumo. This domain is hosted on godaddy. I know its not the best service to use but it's what I'm using. I do receive the login box for sumo but when I login it gives me a error. Probably cause I don't have https. Any idea how I can solve this little problem? Also before I go any further with installing this. The reason is that the website has to have a password Protected area that the client can upload files easily to and that only access with password can reach. Let me know if what I am looking to do can be accomplished. Thanks Matt Bjorkman |

Dear Felix, forgive me for my late reply, is a very busy time for me! About your problem, you're right, to switch a Node rapidly from Testing to a Production environment the current interface is a little uncomfortable. Also, the latest version of the software is probably a bit too restrictive, but I think to rewrite a lot of code taking into account those aspects. For now I can recommend to perform an update directly to your database, like the following: UPDATE sumo_accesspoints SET node = <PRODUCTION ID NODE> WHERE node = ( SELECT id FROM sumo_nodes WHERE host = 'localhost' ) This is a not so brutal way, simply it changes the link of "old" testing node to the new node for production in one time. I don't know how much you know about SQL, but I think it's quite simple. Remember only to set <PRODUCTION ID NODE> with the right number and this query links ALL nodes of your access points to new one. Using the same method you could go back: UPDATE sumo_accesspoints SET node = ( SELECT id FROM sumo_nodes WHERE host = 'localhost' ) WHERE node = <PRODUCTION ID NODE> If you have others questions I'm here! Have a nice day! Hi Rudà, you're right! Look at libs/lib.core.php at the function sumo_get_string_languages(), this is the function to enable your language. Now is: /** * */ function sumo_get_string_languages($l='') { $languages = array( 'it' => 'italiano', 'en' => 'english', 'es' => 'español', //'us' => 'american', //'de' => 'deutsch', 'fr' => 'français' ); return $l ? $languages[$l] : $languages; } Than, you can add your language element to the array: /** * */ function sumo_get_string_languages($l='') { $languages = array( 'it' => 'italiano', 'en' => 'english', 'es' => 'español', //'us' => 'american', //'de' => 'deutsch', 'fr' => 'français', 'pt' => 'portugu´s' ); return $l ? $languages[$l] : $languages; } Please, send me your work, I'll be happy to include it to the next release! I reviewed the supporting files and inc files but just can't seem to find the problem. I'm assuming there is something wrong when checking the DB. I enabled verbose logging but didn't see anything in particular that looked related. Any ideas? recommendations? Thanks!! |

Hi Dave, unfortunately I do not know HAWHAW application. About SUMO, I'm completely rewriting it using jQuery, I think will be a great job! For now you can try to set "http authentication" in your "Access Point" panel, and disable the "encrypted password" feature. The authentication system will provide to check user and password without a login form but only using standard http authentication. Thanks for using my software! If you have other questions I'm here. Have a nice day! alberto 2011/5/18 Dave Woodman <da...@na...>: > Hello, > > > > Firstly I like sudo! > > > > I am building a project that targets mobile devices using HAWHAW > (http://www.hawhaw.de/), and would like to be able to use sudo within it. > The problem that this presents is that the browser on a mobile device may be > “less capable” than that needed to handle the normal login process. Hello, Firstly I like sudo! I am building a project that targets mobile devices using HAWHAW (http://www.hawhaw.de/), and would like to be able to use sudo within it. The problem that this presents is that the browser on a mobile device may be "less capable" than that needed to handle the normal login process. HAWHAW allows forms that can be used, so, how hard is it to authenticate within sudo using a username/password combination originated from a separate form? What would I need to code to replace the normal login form? Hopefully, Dave |

Hello Félix! I'm fine thanks, but I'm very busy because I've recently changed my job. Then, the time that I can spend to this project it's very little. However, I want to publish a new version soon, with many many bugfixes... About your questions: - go to Settings -> Edit -> Sessions & Connections -> Sessions user timeout and set the time (in seconds). This parameter indicates the IDLE time after the user ends his session (1440 is 24 minutes of inactivity). Connection client timeout Is the time of a valid client side connection (when the user isn't yet logged into the system). - Normally, when session expire the user should to be redirected to the correspondent login page/access point where user was logged in. May be the problem is that the session time it's based on the Idle time, not on the login time. Then you see a session that never expire if the user use your application into the "session timeout" time. Did you want an absolute session time? After which the user it's forced to log out? Happy New Year to you too !!! Alberto Il 24/12/2010 17:16, Félix Morillas ha scritto: > Hi Alberto, > > Long time ago since our last comunication. How are you?? Hello Azad, where are you from? About your question... The "install.php" script it's no longer supported by Sumo in the latest version (have you get it from previous version?). However, it was useful when you want to install it from command line, not from your browser, but now you can delete it. To install Sumo follow the instruction at this page: http://sumoam.sourceforge.net/?page=documentation&subpage=quick_install Instead, about permission settings: make sure you have right permissions to all files and directories inside your sumo path, not only on sumo main folder. So, you can run these commands to assign correct permissions to your sumo application: # cd <your sumo path> :/sumo# find . -type d | xargs /bin/chmod 775 :/sumo# find . -type f | xargs /bin/chmod 664 make sure that the owner/group for all files is allowed by your web-server. In Ubuntu, and all Debian-like distro, for Apache is "www-data", so: # cd <your sumo path> :/sumo# chown -R www-data:www-data * Than..., thanks for using my software, and give me your feedback. Have a nice day and, Happy New Year !!! Alberto Il 30/12/2010 23:27, Abul Azad ha scritto: > Dear Basso, > > I installed sumo 0.5.0 but when I try to load it in Firefox I get an > error. I recently did a new installation of sumo on an Apache/PHP5/MySQL installation. I promptly logged into the /sumo admin interface and added a access point. I then created a page at the location I specified in the access point configuration and added the require snippet to include the sumo.php page. Initially I was receiving a blank page when testing the new protected page, so I edited configs/config.server.php and set define ('SUMO_VERBOSE_ERRORS', true) Now I get the error: Catchable fatal error: Object of class ADODB_mysql could not be converted to string in /home/public_html/beta/sumo/inc/inc.db_connection.php on line 17 Any ideas as to how to solve this? Thanks, -Nathan |
