I have a feeling that my user experience isn't typical. In all the
hosts I've tried - with the most recent release, only Rax and Bidule,
but I tried this with AULab as well, way back around 1.2 - if you go
to the Preferences and change the number of loops to 2 and hit "Commit
Changes," nothing happens. It remembers the value, but I've never seen
a second loop appear in the AU the way it does in the standalone.
Changes in the prefs when working in the AU do not affect the
standalone. Changes to the prefs in the standalone happen immediately.
I thought that the AU only supported a single loop.

What do you want to know? The same thing (nothing) happens at all
sample rates, at any number of loops or channels per loop, any latency
settings, any sync settings, any quant settings, any checks in any of
the boxes in the UI... I think that covers it. This is all in Bidule;
I'll reinstall Rax, and I'll dig up my install disc to try it in
Beyond that, what's the routine for a really thorough uninstall? I
replaced the AU and app when upgrading, but I bet that I should yank a
plist, right? I can't find one anywhere. Is there anything else I

I haven't tried this in Rax yet, and I'm still hunting for my install
disk so I can install XCode to get at AULab (I only have it installed
on my G4 mini), but in Bidule, it only has a MIDI In terminal, not a
MIDI out terminal. The AU also seems to dislike Bidule's lack of host
sync; Bidule lets anything capable of generating sync be a master, and
anything capable of accepting sync be a slave. Bidule doesn't have any
sync options for SL at all.
Thanks for your help, Jesse. (And sorry for hijacking your thread,
Jonah! Keep us updated on the idea of letting your whole band loop on
a single device; my band was pretty into the idea until they saw me
flop five times in a row solo. One of 'em bought a Stereo Memory Man,
another is hassling the Boomerang folks; I'm not exactly good PR for
