That behaviour is a feature, not a bug. When you import vocabulary, you dec=
of which type the imported things should be in the wiki. I decided that=20
foaf:knows should be a relation, so you can establish foaf:knows=20
relationships between persons in the wiki. It is not meant to be used to=20
refer to external URIs of persons. If you want to refer to someone who does=
not have an article, it would be useful (for the wiki anyway) to create one.
You can use foaf:mbox and foaf:mbox_sha1sum to identify people in the wiki=
with external foaf:Persons. Also note that one can create rdfs:seeAlso via=

I prefer the separation of (simple) wiki content and (complex) URIs as it i=
If you really want to mix internal and external content, you can always=20
explicitly use the URIs of the wiki-elements with some attribute of type UR=
(though I would not encourage this). But we should not try to move too many=
URIs into the wiki. Just use "see also" and leave some statements to extern=

mainly interesting which persons in the wiki know each other.=20
I would even be as bold as to suggest that the wiki is quite a nice and=20
consistent resource of URIs for people. Many FOAF-files give URIs to people=
only locally in order to have a subject to attach a seeAlso to, and many=20
people do not have an obvious URI anyway.
