this is what we put together when we had such issues (a few years
it's some rough code, don't expect it to run out of the box, probably
even bitrotten due to SBCL internal changes. but if you make it work,
then it returns you entire paths from any object you ask to a root
so, first you need to identify some objects that should have got
collected already. this was easy for us based on object types and some
estimation. then it can give you a path that retains it.
in a firt pass it collects a hashtable of reverse mapping and stores
it in a global. then from the repl you can query it.
