I'm not sure this is true; from a skim of cmucl-commit archives (at
http://www3.cons.org/maillists/cmucl-commit.mail.gz), the work appears
to have been done by Douglas Thomas Crosher, committed in August 2000.
That mail archive goes up to 13th March 2002; I get permission denied
from the more recent archive. I presume that one or other of these
things is an error...
