Overview information can be extremely valuable. I remember that RAM's
mail long ago, explaining GENESIS was extremely helpful for me.
I'm not sure how much the information belongs permanently in
sbcl-internals, as opposed to in comments or other documents under the
same CVS control as the code. (And note that some of this information
is already in comments in the source. See the comments at the head of
package-data-list.lisp-expr, where the package names are initially
specified, and in src/cold/warm.lisp, where the "SB!"-to-"SB-"
renaming is done.)
Perhaps some of the information should be written, or at least
revised, by someone other than me. It's a little hard to know when one
is being too telegraphic or incomplete when one is writing down what
one has already figured out...
