xsl:sort may be adapted to the rules of a specific language via the lang-attribute. This is based on Java language resource bundles. If you want to adapt the sorting algorithm to your purposes, you will have to edit or change a Java RuleBasedCollator class.
Is there an easy way to adapt the sorting algorithm via external parameters or a config file or anything of that kind without changing Java classes?
Is it for example possible to exclude dots (often used in abbreviations) from being relevant in sorting?
I'm using Saxon 22.214.171.124J as XSLT engine. Please note that I've posted this question also on the forum.
