Hi, the first version of Qtella for Windows is available now. It is declared as an pre-alpha version because I have not run many tests on Windows yet. I have just successfully compiled the sources. It could crash very often and some features working for the Linux version may not work for Windows. You are welcome to help developing! Visit http://sf.net/projests/qtella and participate in discussions about developing and Qtella's future. !WARNING! You are using this program at your own risk. Known Bugs for Win32 version: - hangs at 100% cpu after some minutes - start takes a long time - qtella.ini is located at c:\qtella.ini - search seems to be broken Location of executable: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/qtella/qtella-win32-pre-alpha1.zip Location of sources: http://sf.net/projects/qtella (CVS) -- www.Qtella.net - the power of peer-to-peer Daniel Etzold (de...@qt...) Hi, Daniel, since version 2.3, I have been trying to install qtella, but so far to no= =20 avail. The rpm packages crashed, and compilation did not succeed so far. = My=20 system is a mixture between Mandrake 8.0, 8.1 and Cooker, and I am using = the=20 gcc 3.0.2 from Cooker. This time, I came close to finishing the compilation. I encountered a few= =20 trivial bugs, for which I am attaching a patch. Bear with me, this is the= =20 first patch I ever created, so in case it does not do what it is supposed= to,=20 here come manual instructions: In "IncomingConnect.cc", add a line "#include <iostream>" and replace two= =20 occurrences of "cout" by "std::cout". In "Interface.cc", replace "fstream= " by=20 "std::fstream". Unfortunately, linking failed because lots of symbols starting with a cap= ital=20 "Q" could not be resolved. However, Qt is installed: libqt2-2.3.1-14mdk libqt2-devel-2.3.1-14mdk The "-L" flag of the linker specifies "/usr/lib" and "/usr/lib/qt2/lib", = and=20 there are lots of qt related files in these paths; mostly links, but also= a=20 few libraries. "find /usr/lib -type f | grep libqt" yields /usr/lib/libqtmcop.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib/libqtmcop.la /usr/lib/libqt-mt.so.2.3.1 /usr/lib/libqt.so.2.3.1 Right now, I do not have much time to look into these issues, but if you = know=20 a solution, I would be grateful for a fast reply. Hi, my own (experimental!!) host cache server is online now. You can access the server by adding "qtellaconnect.ath.cx:6347" to the autoconnect host list. When connecting to the server it delivers 10 IP addresses and disconnects. Bandwidth should be no problem as long as only Qtella user uses this server but I don't have any experience about stability... -- www.Qtella.net - the power of peer-to-peer Daniel Etzold (de...@qt...)
