I have also noticed that changing a value from the default value
behaves strangely. Just replacing the string "_#DEFAULT_" with
something else has no effect. (Wasn't that impossible in earlier
Clearing the attribute value with sgml-edit-attrb-clear (C-c C-k) does
not remove "_#DEFAULT_", but only the space separating it from " =".
(Commiting the changes in this state inserts an empty attribute.)
Text added before "_#DEFAULT_" is ignored when committing, while text
following it is put into the attribute value. Probably some marker at
My first reflex, killing the remaining "_#DEFAULT_" with kill-line
(C-k), terminates the line at " =" (_no_ trailing space) and the first
character of the text entered there is swallowed --- probably taken as
the space usually trailing the "=". IIRC, removing that space was
impossible before, too.

Same goes for me.
I also have a feature request: the "*Edit attributes*" buffer is
modified when psgml is done filling it. Having the modified-flag
unset would tell the user quickly wether he/she has done anything (at
the end of the coffee break, for example). It would also allow psgml
to leave the XML file unchanged when closing an unmodified buffer.
Currently, it effectively does some whitespace normalization, messing
up line wrapping and indentation.

I'm using emacs-version "21.4 (patch 8) \"Honest Recruiter\" XEmacs
Lucid" and psgml-version "1.3.0".

This is also i686-pc-linux-gnu. I can send over the `Current
installation info' if this turns out to be hard to reproduce.
