Stu: My apologies if you thought I was criticisng your work - I'm merely
stating what somebody mentioned in the silc room at sauna.silcnet.org.
If you want, I could contact the user (niks) so we could file a bug
report or something? However, I tried the dll's myself, and it works
brilliantly - great job mate =), so you have one more happy user.
And no, I wouldn't ask you to change the timestamps (I'm one of those
weird people obsessed with always having the latest, bleeding edge stuff
- even CVS isn't fresh enough for me *grin*). I guess it's my fault for
not checking the release date of the silc-toolkit properly - the gaim
plugin specs haven't changed since then, right?
I think an all-in-one binary would be useful for spreading silc,
particularly among newbie users. I was trying to get a friend of mine to
use silc a while ago (this was over the phone), and I pointed him to the
0.80 binary. One click and there, all set up. It's probably just a case
of writing a .bat script and packaging with some installer creator
thingy (nullsoft?), but perhaps you could place such a file on your
site? (I could try my hand at it, but it'll probably be one of those
blow-up-in-your-face and deep-fry-the-cat efforts).
Also, this is OT, but does anybody know how to read the logs in gaim for
a particular room in silc - I found the logs in .gaim, but I'm wondering
how you would access them via the gui (ie what screenname would you
enter - or is it not possible).
