Hi Guys
I upgraded my ONM installation mid last week from 1.9.90 to the latest
git release and installed from source. This is the 8th or 9th time I
have upgraded ONM on this box and I have the process down pretty
smooth as I have regular backups of the /opt/opennms/share directory
and my /opt/opennms/etc/ directory versioned in mercurial to help with
config merges. Everything came up and started working after the
upgrade except for strafeping which reported all nodes in the ip
ranges included in the strafer package (several hundred) as down. I
have spent hours going through the logs (and in the meantime fixing a
bunch of other small issues) but I can't figure out whats wrong with
strafer. I just upgraded the system again to git as of 2012-04-14 but
the problem still persists.
The service shows down with the following error:
"StrafePing outage identified on interface X.X.X.X with reason code: Unknown."
Does anyone have any clue what could be going wrong or how I could go
about debugging this further?
