Summary: NSIS Installer errors
Initial Comment:
NSIS would be my favorite install program, except, for a couple things.
Creating a script is too complicated & hard.
I looked at Jordan Russel's Inno program & found the new option on it guided you right through it.
Would be nice to have the same thing in NSIS.
Don't have to have all options, but at LEAST the basic installer options.
Zip2exe is wonderful, but if I use it for an installer, what good is it? I can't create start menu shortcuts with it, nor can I run a file or say, couple files after install.
I love your program, but could you pls, pls, make it easier for newbies like me?
I don't care about spending years studying code, I want a simple, easy to use installer. I feel most users would be pretty happy with these options on a basic installer:
Modern UI, option to select what to install, start menu shortcuts, ability to run say, 1 to 5 things after install, basic license screen, registry settings section, plus LZMA & solid on compression...
Could you guys make this possible?
I am ready to climb a tree because of how hard scripting seems to be!!!
Using scripts always makes me nervous I am doing things wrong, & doesn't seem to ever compress as deep as zip2 exe even on lzma solid settings...
HELPPPPP!!! (Is being easier a crime?)
Thanks!

Have you tried one of the available development environments?

As for zip2exe, it's not meant to build installers. It's meant to build
SFX from a ZIP.
