I'm pleased to announce to administrative changes to the Net-SNMP
project that will be beneficial to the users of the Net-SNMP package:
1) Code Base Now Under SVN
The Net-SNMP code base, which has been stored within CVS since I
started the project many years ago, has switched to SVN. SVN
offers a number of advantages for the developers that we look
forward to making use of, but we'll spare you from expounding on
the details here. There are a few outstanding things we're still
cleaning up from the transition, but all current development is
being performed within SVN. Brief instructions for using SVN can
be found here:

2) Net-SNMP now using a wiki for it's collaborative documentation
Observant readers may have noticed that the above URL points to a
WIKI. (Observant users may have noticed that there has been a
"wiki" link on the left side of the Net-SNMP web page for a while
now).
We're now heavily invested in using a wiki for various pieces of
online project documentation. A number of pages have been created,
and a number of our older HTML-based documentation has been
converted to wiki-format. Most importantly, our FAQ and our
Tutorials are now available in wiki-editable format. Anyone who
wishes to create a wiki account and participate in editing,
clarifying or adding to the Net-SNMP documentation is welcome to do
so. We do ask, however, that if you're adding anything to an exist
documentation section that you follow the style used for the other
section components as use them as a starting template.
Note: it's anticipated that at some point in the future sourceforge
may offer it's own project wiki system, which we'll likely switch
to as we expect it's integrated performance to be better than our
own installation. But the time frame for that is unknown and we
will certainly be converting all the documentation at that point in
time.
