I installed ndiswrapper for my Broadcom wireless, but I run ifup
wlan0, it will not automatically associate with an access point, it
will continually try to dhcp, then fail because it didn't associate.
However, I can manually associate with an access point by running
`iwconfig wlan0 essid <enter ap name>`. I tried different settings in
iwconfig, i.e. `iwconfig wlan0 ap auto` (<-- and also ap any, ap none,
and iwconfig wlan0 essid any). None of those commands would cause it
to associate with the strongest signal.
I'm trying to create a pre-up script to load the modules, associate
with an AP, and dhcp just by typing ifup wlan0. All of the other
wireless cards I've had always auto-associated, and by reading the
forums here, it appears that ndiswrapper is also suppose to do the
same, any ideas how to get this working?
