This is now fixed in CVS... After seeing the bug I felt really dumb.

Can I "see" the patch if I compare 3.05 with CVS or does the CVS already
differ a lot from CVS?  If yes, could you provide me a patch separately?

vertical bars, one for each leading space, or something like that...

Replace the i with 5,7 or 9
