Thanks for the clarification.  I had misunderstood this to be an
optional stage to add or modify existing settings, after the restore
had been fully conducted.

All previous use of Mondo has been on Ubuntu mdadm RAID based servers,
where I have dealt with the equivalent settings in a chroot
environment.  This meant I was (up to now) accustomed to declining the
"Label" stage.

I am able to write to CD-Rs, but USB is giving me fits.  I have new HP 16G
sticks.  When I type mondoarchive at the prompt I get "I think you have
Windows 9x partition." 

Done

 

Is there something to formatting the USB sticks? I have tried reformatting
them on a Windows machine to FAT32 and NTFS.

Hi Cory,

I guess that this topic and the other topic: "[Mondo-devel] USB mondoarchive failure"
concern the same problem.

>From your mondoarchive.log, it seems that - with mondoarchive - you used: /dev/scd0

mondoarchive.log extract:
...interactively_obtain_media_parameters_from_user#2770: media device = /dev/scd0

Try instead: /dev/scd

I have a 16G stick plugged into the back or a Rhino Ceros Desktop running an Intel Littlefalls board with Atom processor.  CentOS 5.2 and Elastix 1.6.

Typed mondoarchive and went through setup .  Chose USB Key/Disk
No Compression
16000 in the Size box
It told me it thinks my USB media corresponds to /dev/scd0, so I said yes. (Tried to run it last night by putting in /dev/sdb for my USB and that didn't work.)
 Cat /proc/partitions this:
   8     0  156290904 sda
   8     1     104391 sda1
   8     2    1052257 sda2
   8     3  155131672 sda3
   8    16   15851520 sdb
   8    17   15663088 sdb1

And mount:
/dev/sda3 on / type ext3 (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
/dev/sda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
tmpfs on /tmp type tmpfs (rw,noexec,nosuid)
none on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw)

everything else was default.

I got this error at the prompt:

[root@...~]# mondoarchive
Initializing...
See /var/log/mondoarchive.log for details of backup run.
Checking sanity of your Linux distribution

I have tried 2.2.9.6, both by rebuilding SRPMs and from source, and still get 
the other problem about  the video driver.

Could you run mindi in dbug mode please ?

bash -x /usr/sbin/mindi 2>&1 | tee -a /tmp/mindi.log

and send to me the mindi.log resulting file please ?

You should follow instructions from

And you may want to edit the above wikipage to add a trixbox section
once you solved your install issues.
