today is the day, that we remember the official release of
mjpegtools-1.6.1 (pheew ;-) )! mjpegtools-1.6.1 is a bugfix release over
version 1.6.0, both binary as well as source compatible. Besides
bugfixes all over the place, it also includes PPC/Altivec optimizations
to mpeg2enc (with much thanks to James Klicman), making MPEG-1/2
encoding on PPC systems much much faster.
So, where to get it? Just at the same place where you downloaded 1.6.0:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=5776&release_id=127092. We provide source and binary RPMs and debian packages, and of course a tarball for those wanting to do all the work themselves.
Bug reports can be send to this mailinglist. All the other info
concerning the long list of developers is probably not needed, you'll
all know who I'm talking about.
Have fun with it!
(on behave of the whole mjpeg developers team)
