May help, but maybe not. On Intel platforms, Linux and MinGW are both little
endian, AFAIAW. The OP didn't say what platform he was running Linux on, but
Intel is the most common, I believe.

Could be; since you don't say what flags you specified, and we are not
clairvoyant, it's impossible to say.

We'd be able to do so much better, if you gave us details of what is going
wrong; at least:
- a *minimal* example of code which reproduces your problem.
- the *exact* commands you've used to compile, link and run it.
- the *exact* error messages, or *detailed* description of other
abnormal results you've observed.
