If your MiKTeX installation isn't broken it should work - try running
"initexmf -u" and "initexmf --mkmaps" and run Yap again. (You installed psnfss
and psfnssx using the Package Manager, right?) If that didn't work, you should
check if you have the following files:
texmf\fonts\tfm\adobe\avantgar\pagk8r.tfm [psnfss package]
texmf\fonts\type1\urw\urwstd\uagk8a.pfb [urwstd package]
If not, (re)install these packages using MiKTeX Package Manager.
