You can use .jpg graphic with latex but using the proper commands. Below is
a latex document with proper commands for including pics in .jpg format.
Try it out. The problem lies in specifying the size of the picture which you
can get by trial and error.

LaTeX cannot use JPG files directly. Export your graphics in the EPS
