i have a pair of questions for you:
1. i am working with large point cloud from laser scanner (4 millions of
points or more) and i have to precise i am NOT interested in surface
recontruction: the selection tool appear to work too slowly for leaving
me to select and delete points so i tried using the z-painting tool for
selecting some points to delete. I see that this tool does not permit to
select/colorize objects that are not meshes. I would be interested in
painting too, becouse it could permit me to extract/highlight areas of
interest from a cloud, without the restrictions of a rectangular
I see z-painting work for vertexes only if the mesh exist, and if one
delete all the faces the vertex-associated color is manteined... Is
there any specific reason for this behaviour?
Summary: i need to clean out my cloud by hand (not with semi- or
automatic tools). How could i do, without recostructing the whole
surface (they are 4 millions of points)??
highlighting of vertexes by painting would be fantastic for other things
i need to do...
a minor question:
2. is there any method for texturing (i mean draping the surface with a
photograph) the cloud (this time after surface recostruction) with
photos taken with normal cameras (not parametrized etc...)?
PS:I am working with the last svn code.
Many thanks to everybody (for your work too)!!
