Linux Infrared Remote Control

So,i want to make a new config file for irreco (lirc) for new remote (my 
device is not supported). I was told i have to use irrecord,but before 
doing so,to use mode2. So i did. However, /dev/lirc does not exist,only 
/dev/lirc0 .So i moved the lirc0 where mode2 expects is, and it told me 
to use --raw to access it rawly,without abstraction layer.So i did. 
But,when i point remote (and press buttons) at the IR led,nothing 
appears on the screen.  And, also, irrecord tells me: irrecord: mode not 
supported. Any ideas?

Is there any patch yet which allows building lirc against
the new kernel-2.6.33-rc2? There are compilation errors (see below)
which seem to be related to the latest changes in linux/kfifo.h

You will have to use the lirc_atiusb kernel module.
