Hello out there,

I did again some work on tkremote. The current version should
be able to handle raw coded remotes.
This version is also able to read bitmaps. So now you can
build some small pictures and have them set on the buttons.
Looks nicer I think :)

Could you help me with setting up my TV card
LifeView FlyVideo 98 (w/o FM)
under SuSE6.4 (2.2.14)
I intend to use Xawtv application

1. Will Kernel 2.2.14 bttv will work with my card?
2. Which strings I must add to /etc/modules.conf (card=???, tuner type=???
other=???)
3. How to configure Lirc?

I am trying to set up lirc.

I have
LifeView FlyVideo 98 (w/o FM) card.
SuSE6.4 Kernel 2.2.14

Card is working only with bttv 0.7.x
With Kernel's bttv I have either sound or picture (never both)

I've tried to add IRC support so far for Kernel's bttv.
Below the irw dump is shown:

Who else have tried to set up LifeView FlyVideo 98 TV card? (I know about
Pawel Jochym's site and he was very kind to answer some of my questions
but
it seem's that my FlyVideo 98 TV card is different than his one)

Cant get my IR to work on COM 2

Heres my problem, I have two comm ports on my box, ttyS0, ttyS1.

When my IR ( I made my self with parts from Radio Shack) is on ttyS0 it
works fine.  Although when I move it to comm 2 it does not work.  I did to a
fresh install of Lirc.  Although when I get to the testdriver it sees
nothing. ( I didnt not do make install )  

The reason I need to put it on comm 2 is because I have a LCD display
working on com 1  now.  I would move that to com 2 but I cant get that to
work there either.  

which suggests to me that there was something wrong with the comm port, or
im doing something wrong.  Then only thing I did was change the CMOS from
having Serial 1 & 2 from auto to the desired setting. (com 2 0x2f8h)

I dont know whats wrong could some please try and help me out.

This sounds like you are still using 0.5.4. Get 0.6.0 and give us some  
more info, like kernel output in /var/log/messages etc.

This all sounds like you did not change irq and port settings of your module.

Try the CVS. Some TVPhone98 cards (0x00031461 is tested, there are  
different models) are already working. All other models should be  
supported very soon.

Conversion from raw format

In 0.5.4 you could convert the lircd.conf from raw simply by issuing irrrecord.

How is this done in the new version ?

By using the irrecord version that was included in 0.5.4. :-)

Basically the idea is that if irrecord (0.6.x) does not produce a decoded  
config file in the first place it won't be able to do that later.

Just to make sure I got subscribed okay.  BTW, Jim, if you're on here yet, I am
interested in taking up maintenance of WinLIRC shortly - I'll have the spare
cash to construct a new set of reciever models soon and can start work in a few
weeks.  Why oh why did I say, the 5110s can wait, I need a Geforce 2 :)

Out of curiosity, would anyone be interested in two versions of Winlirc: one
that was a direct linux-source patch, and a separate gui one?  I'd like to do
both if possible, since that would let the newbies get IR stuff up and running
and still let some of the old hats here keep on the bleeding edge with the
console stuff we're used to.  I've been studying the .60 source with what
little time I have (jury duty sucks!) and I think it might just be possible.

I think that would be useful.  What would be really great would be if
they could be completely integrated into a single codebase, but
because of all of the Windows GUI nonsense that I had to deal with,
that would probably make the code pretty ugly.  Having a
less-user-friendly but more robust port of LIRC would be nice.

Some time ago I wrote a remote driver for CPH033 and recently updated it to
CPH063. I have other things to do now, so I'm posting it here for
interested. It requires heavy cleanup to remove rudimets of sources I
hacked it of and porting to GPIO hooks in new driver.

SEND_START and SEND_STOP does work for me.
