raw1394_update_config_rom

raw1394_update_config_rom doesn't seem to be implemented with the latest fw driver.  Is there another way to do this?

The raw1394 driver as well as the firewire-core driver offer requests to
add and remove descriptors to/ from the config ROM.  Unlike raw1394's
older request which replaces the entire config ROM, these requests are
free of race conditions.  Nobody updated libraw1394 to this newer
add/remove descriptor interface though.

The interfaces are the RAW1394_REQ_MODIFY_ROM write request

I don't know of any.  But you could look at how the kernelspace driver
firewire-net uses the in-kernel equivalent of the API.

On Wednesday, Linux 2.6.31 (final) was released with the following 
additional changes to the firewire drivers:

firewire-core:
   - fix a crash in isochronous resource management (regression since
     2.6.31-rc1)

firewire-ohci:
   - fix video reception on Ricoh R5C832
   - fix video reception from more than one camera simulatneously on
     Agere FW643

firewire-sbp2:
   - fix potential crash after "status write for unknown orb" events
