Summary: new option: ignore untitled dirty buffers on exit
Initial Comment:
Hello !
[I am on Windows Server 2008 R2, x64, en, java 1.6_19, jEdit 4.3.2]
If I create a new buffer and paste text into it it is naturally not saved.
If I add the next new buffer, the shortly create one is just re-used
and it's text is lost!
I'll not save temporary buffers all the time or have them saved
on program exit.
I think overriding an extisting buffer with a "new" action should
be considered as a bug.
Best regards,
++mabra

Ok, I asked me the whole time, what this means ... ;-)
Thanks for creating the feature request!!

Perhaps another way could be a new option to "Allow more than one untitled
and dirty buffer".

So what you are saying is "never mark untitled buffers dirty" is not an
option you like.
You would rather it be something like "never ask about saving untitled
buffers on exit"?
And then the buffers would be marked dirty, and you'd end up with lots of
them each time a new untitled one is created, but you are never asked to
save them on exit.

Hi !
Please excuse me very much;Became ill and an unplanned travel ....sorry!
Now, I see, what you mean! But - call my silly:What to the hell should
this checkbox then give me??? I feel, this is a behavioral discrepancy!
I now unchecked this and when I quit jEdit, it now asked about all
unsaved and unnamed buffers!! I just have expected, it will only
aks me about named, but unsaved buffers, but not on dirty unnamed
ones!
Sad!
Thanks anyway!

Under global options - saving and backup
there is a checkbox "never mark untitled buffers dirty".
If that box is checked, you are getting the expected behavior.
If it is un-checked, and you are saying that your untitled buffers are
getting wiped out even though they have unsaved data, then that is a bug.
What is the state of that checkbox?
