with squirrelmail :), I think it shouldn't be a problem to skip menu and
HTML body (both in html/)

No, and I don't like the idea of POP3 access - no folders, no nothing. It's
meant for downloading mail, not browsing it.

No, I use Cyrus IMAPd and it's Sieve filtering - there is a plugin for that.
You can set where the folder listing plugin will show your mailboxes - on
the top right, or below the menu - if you have lots of folders, set it below
the menu ;)
