All the deskjets I'm familiar with will go off-line (idle) automatically
after a set amount of unused time. This is a power-save mode, but HPLIP
does not expose any user function for this option.
At the beginning of a print job, if the printer is "idle" HPLIP will
automatically perform a power-up command before we send the print job.=20
HPLIP will detect this "idle" state by reading the printer's device-id.
I believe most inkjets will turn the power led off when "idle".
