I can see the need for such a function. Others would be
iTunes has this pretty nicely sorted out with the XML file that the iPod
can be triggered to send. I believe it was Paul who, some time back,
tried to implement this into libgpod without success.
Maybe there's a way to do this in a more generic way? For example create
a static XML response until someone manages to get the iPod to talk to
us? The static XML response should of course be compatible with the full
iPod XML response.
