Gutenprint - Top Quality Printer Drivers

I found out what my problem was with the Epson PictureMate.  It looks
like despite what the manual says it only accepts one drop size (0x12)
and doesn't like any resolution lower than 2880x720 DPI.  That's not
actually hard to work around; it looks like it is useful to support
resolutions as low as 720 DPI, but not below.

It looks like the inks are very similar to the R800, although the drop
sizes are different.  What's in there may be fairly well tuned right
now, although the density's probably too low.

1) Does anyone have an HP LaserJet III around?  Someone reported that
   5.0.0-rc1 wasn't working correctly, but 4.2.7 was.  This might have
   been an OS X issue, but if someone can test this it would be great.

2) I'm having problems with the Epson PictureMate; specifically, it
   seems to be printing only one pass (and garbage, at that).  I'm not
   sure what's going wrong here, but I'm probably not going to get it
   working right away.

I'd like to get -rc2 out as soon as practicable.  Does anyone else
have anything they'd like to get in there?
