I notice I only have the choice to download the image?  Is there a way
to save an image like you can just right click and save a page?

When you bring up the context menu, and the back button is there, Galeon
0.8.1 would just go back to the previous page with one click.  Galeon
0.8.2, however, requires and extra click on the back button, to select
precisely which page to go back to. However, I'm not really fond of the
new behavior (I found the old way of doing it to be quite quick and
effiecient, and I'd like to ask for an option to choose between the two
behaviors.

hi

i think you are talking about right-clicking the back menu item

if you left-click it which is the usual thing to do with menus you 
will go back immediately

how many people would like this  being optional?

Oh, wow, you're right... I guess that's a fair comprimise, but I'd still
rather just to be able to rightclick-rightclick instead of
rightclick-leftclick.  To me, it's more natural to rightclick twice, but
I can live with this way. ^_^

I have been using galeon 8.0.1 as my main browser for some time now but
I recently
tried to upgrade to 8.3 when I tried this it crashed out of the build
saying that it cant find -ldb when I have the db dev package installed.
If I go through the Make file and change all the refernces from -ldb to
-ldb2 then it compiles fine.

Also now that I have intsalled it I cant get it runnig it just comes
back with the following error.
/usr/bin/galeon-bin: error while loading shared libraries:
/usr/bin/galeon-bin: undefined symbol: __ti13nsCAutoString

Is this something to do with the db changes I have mad and if so How do
I get round it.

System is debain testing updated 28-DEC! and I have working
installations of mozilla M18-3 debs and in /usr/local/mozilla of the
27-DEC nightly build.

Latest version (0.8.3) appears to be more stable, although I still get
it to crash, when multiple windows are open.
In particular, galeon seems to be confused when recovering from a previous
crash, when one has opted for 'session recovery'.

I have the same problem before. It is a known problem
of M18. Use a nightly build or use a newest mozilla
development package (See galeon page to download from
RedHAt)  will fix it.

1.Java plugin

I've got the Java plugin working eventually.  Well sort of.

I am using j2re1.3.0_01, Mozilla M18, Galeon 8.2.
I have put the symbolic link to the plugin .so file in
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
I start up Mozilla and it now shows applets - but in their own windows!
Galeon does the same.  How can I fix this?
(Also have MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME set or not has no effect on things at all -
works both ways!)

2. Can't download

I can download using Mozilla but not Galeon.  I just get a new blank browser
window.

Well, it worked with version 0.7.5 or .6 of galeon. M17 that time.
Hmmm.... not really. The PSM-plugin started to create processes
and processes without killing them. After two or three pages from
a secure site, my system was overloaded with PSM processes...
Then with the upgrade to M18, I think, PSM started denying cooperation..

Hi,

As you know some browsers aupport offline browse. I am
wondering is it possible for galeon to support this
feature too? Or is it possible for galeon to support
this feature since galeon use Gecko as a presentation
engine? 

I do try out wwwoffle proxy. It's good. But still have
some issues. First, It is hardly for every user to
build wwwoffle since not every one is a programmer.
The other thing is for mozt of the people
they don't have a same proxy which enforce they have
to
make some code changes and compile wwwoffle. And more,
it will be better for user to click a button liek
"offline" and visit cashed pages instead of searching
pages provided by wwwoffle proxy.

I don't see mozilla's offline function ever work :(.
Does any one who can help if we want to support
offline browse for galeon. Any help will be
appreciated. Thanks.

There were reports of PSM working with galeon, but I haven't been
able to use it (only tried recently). I think the problem is the
same that we have with basic authetication: Mozilla tries to
popup some XUL dialog. Basic authentication is working with CVS
mozilla, so maybe PSM works now too.

Enlightenment.
If any link leads to opening a page in a new window, the new window is not
drawn properly, Galeon crashes and dies.

Hi,

Install mozilla at /usr/local/mozilla. The JAVA
plugin ( a symbolic link and java2 JVM) for mozilla
should be in installed in directory
/usr/local/mozilla/plugins. export
MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/local/mozilla then run your
galeon. It should work. Beware Java plugin for mozilla
you should blackdown (j2re1.3.0) or SUn's JAVA2
1.3.0_01. Good luck,

I downloaded and successfully installed j2re1.3.0; as Mozilla, latest
nightly build, I put the rpm packages in my /home/corrado directory; now
could anybody please help me? What *exactly* have I to do in order to
use j2 as a Mozilla plug-in?

I get the following error when I am trying to run 'make' with galeon 0.8.1

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ldb
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

I cleaned up on_entry1_key_press_event a little. The behaviour of
autocompletion is not exactly the same as before.
tab completion is always on. You can only enable/disable the autocompletion
(the preferences should  be changed from uto-completion/tab completion to
enable/disable but I couldn't figure out how to do this).
Please let me know if you don't like the new behaviour or if there are bugs

I also changed browser_load_url to print an url when browsing My Portal.

The last patch I posted was buggy : it corrupted the bookmarks.
Fortunately, it has not been applied yet.
Here is a corrected and improved version. I modified the preference dialog
to enable/disable autocompletion since tab-completion is always on. 
Moreover, when you press tab, it really tries to autocomplete the url : if
you type jo and you press tab, you will be proposed http://www.joystick.fr and
http://www.joystick.fr if you already typed this.
Please let me know there are things you don't like in the new
autocompletion system

You can find a 0.13 rpm on http://www.helixcode.com but your problem is not related to libglade.
Your problem is:
1 you installed mozilla M17 (galeon require M18)

or

2 you have an old version of mozilla in /usr/local/mozilla (delete it)

I'm trying to install galeon-0.8.1 on redhat 6.2 (kernel 2.2.14-5.5.0) using
galeon-0.8.1-rh6_2.i386.rpm. However, rpm reports a dependency on >=
libglade-0.13 (I currently have 0.11 installed). I cannot find the rpm for
version 0.13 (or higher) for redhat 6.2.

I've tried building  and installing libglade-0.13-4 . But when I try to run
galeon I get the follwing message:

/usr/bin/galeon-bin: error in loading shared libraries: /usr/bin/galeon-bin:
undefined symbol: __vt_28nsCreateInstanceByContractID

I've grep'ed the libglade and galeon sources for a reference to this symbol
but I don't find any. So, my questions are:

- does anyone recognize the error and know how to fix it
- does anyone know where I might get an rpm for libglade-0.13... my thinking
is that I can at least I can use rpm to find any other dependencies there
might be that are out of whack on my machine at the moment.
