Comment:

 This bug does in fact still exist. When you edit fckeditor_config.js to
 enable the ['TextColor','BGColor'] buttons the bug will occur. If you
 leave that disabled the bug does not occur.

 The bug affects all the toolbar buttons, the Selection Change event

 All buttons and dropdown lists stop being updated after applying any
 change that involves a floating dialog.[[BR]]
 This occurs in FCKEditor versions 2.6RC and 2.6 (2.6Beta is ok), and using
 IE7 (I have not tried with earlier versions).[[BR]]
 [[BR]]
 HOW TO REPRODUCE[[BR]]
 Extremely fast and easy:[[BR]]
 1. Using IE7, go to the demo page at [http://www.fckeditor.net/demo][[BR]]
 2. Apply one or two styles and/or formats (or anything that has an
 automatically updated state, such as font, size, B/U/I etc.)[[BR]]
 3. Insert a smiley anywhere (or apply any other change that requires using
 a floating dialog)[[BR]]
 And that's it. Now, no matter where you click, all buttons and dropdown
 lists stay in the same state.[[BR]]
 [[BR]]
 RANDOM COMMENTS[[BR]]
 - Concerning the dropdown lists, the RefreshActiveItems() method is not
 even called anymore.[[BR]]
 - This does not seem to be triggered by the call to EnsureElements().
 Indeed I tried with a test plugin and the problem occurs regardless of
 whether EnsureElements is called or not.[[BR]]

 That demo page is wrong. it's pointing to a bad location for the config.js
 file and it gets a 404 error.

 When some source is protected you can't see it all, so the first line in
 the editor shows that it isn't being applied.

 I did some hack for this problem.
 If you want to sponsor, feel free. Here is the trick :
 in fckconfig.js, add some shortcuts to indent and outdent in the
 keystrokes like :

 Hi there

 I was playing around with your editor and found a bug.
 If I use the following code:
 <fieldset>
         <a  href="/File/Meg_TechRun1.jpg">
                 <img src="/Image/001_Meg_TechRun_Thumb.jpg" />
         </a>
 </fieldset>

 and right click on the image and edit the link, it moves the cursor to the
 first position in the source and the link in the popup is empty. This is
 happening in my IE7 browser, but not in my Firefox.

Comment:

 In Firefox 2 and Opera it's fine in my tests

 It doesn't seems to work in Safari 3.1 (windows at least)

 in IE, (this problem exists before the patch, so it probably should be
 filed as a different ticket, but just to make it clear that it isn't a
 regression) the selection is lost after removing the list. It only happens
 when selecting the lines with the keyboard.

 Can you check the Safari thing?
