we have the datacentre sorted. we will have bandwidth to kill (100mbit+ both
ways). right now i'm waiting on benr to get back with some sort of word from
sun as to if they will be kind enough to provide boxen :)

i looked at dell and hp mostly - and dell offered more choices that ended up
with cheaper prices (eg - we can get sata raid with dell whihc is
sitgnifincatly cheaper and MUCH bigger diskspace wise than the scsi raid hp
offered). we also can get .edu discount prices as well on dell and hp hw for
this (the datacentre can get this for us if we just buy thru them - it also
means the hw will be shipped direct-to-site and thats going to be handy). so a
AR price might be competitive - might be better than .edu price, but shipping
extras from .ca to .usa may screw that up (and who knows - customs duties too!)
