Of course ghost solution suite includes an agent that is installed on the windows client and do not need to configure anything. This agent communicates with the administration console ghost solution suite (similar to drbl-server). In the console cloning a task is created and configured so that when the machine is cloned keep the previous settings before cloning. Thanks to this when cloning ends all machines have the same name, group, IP, mask, etc than before. It is wonderful. If you need more data please let me know. When you talk about dhcp, i don't know exactly what is the moment to use it, when drbl server send image or if i use a dhcp server on my network, to setting clients. Idon't use dhcp server, all my machines use statics ip. Thanks a lot. Hi , I would suggest to use config file to assign fixed IP and hostname. as the follow: For IP assignment: 1. Edit file "c:\cygwin\drbl_winroll-config\client-mac-network.conf" as http://drbl-winroll.org/doc/sample/client-mac-network.conf.1.sample 2. Make sure "CONFIG_NETWORK_MODE" value as the fillow in winroll.conf, CONFIG_NETWORK_MODE = /RDF:C:\cygwin\drbl_winroll-config\client-mac-network.conf For hostanem assignment: 1. Edit C:\cygwin\drbl_winroll-config\hosts.conf as the follow: 000C294EEF53 =F103-EQ01 ... 2. Make sure "HN_WSNAME_PARAM" value as the fillow in winroll.conf, HN_WSNAME_PARAM = /RDF:C:\cygwin\drbl_winroll-config\hosts.conf /DFK:$MAC Of course, you have to done these steps before saving as image Ceasar jose perez 於 2014年09月15日 18:51 寫道: > Hello. > I have to cloning, training classrooms with about 16 machines. Hello. I have to cloning, training classrooms with about 16 machines. Some classrooms have computers with names "MB12-EQ01, MB12-EQ02,MB12-EQ03 ....." . In other classrooms computers are called "F103-EQ01, F103-EQ02, F103-EQ03 .....". What is the procedure and how can I set drbl-winroll, for machines to keep that name and its IP address after cloning. After reading the instructions really do not get it right. Thank you. |

SSH is used for centralized management via DRBL server. For SID change, you need to get SID change tool(ex: newsid.exe) by yourself(due to license issue) and setup during DRBL-winroll installation. > > 3. I don't understand this question clearly. For installation, refer the answer 1. For uninstallation, yes, you have to uninstall manually one by one. Greetings, I am glad to be on this list as I think Drbl-winroll is probably a great project, but I don't know how to use it. I can find no documentation on this, and the bits I find are hard to understand because the English is a bit unclear. I mean no offense by this. However, I have some questions that I hope someone can answer. I am using clonezilla with a DRBL server, I can clone and restore on multiple Windows XP machines at once, however, I need to have the computer name and SID changed. My questions are: 1. Does Drbl-winroll have to be run on each machine manually after the image has been pushed out to all of the machines. i.e. if I push out 100 machines, do I have to go to each machine and run Drbl-winroll? Or is there a way to do this automatically before it is pushed out to the machines? 2. There seem to be a lot of extra features such as setting up ssh etc. are all these needed? If not, how can I skip everything except for just the computer name and SID change? 3. If it is necessary to have Drbl-winroll installed on all machines, would I have to go to each machine one at a time and manually uninstall it? Or is there an automatic way to uninstall them all? Thanks, Manjula |
