Hi Saros Developers,

I used git-svn to import Saros and the various branches into git and created a 
couple of commits and now have some trouble in getting them into the review 
board. I wonder if any of you have used git and review board before?

You should definitely switch to subclipse or subversive in the future. It

[Dpp-devel] Non-host inviting doesn't work

Hi everyone,

non-hosts adding people to session doesn't work. It appears the assumption that the inviter is the host is littered throughout the code. There are at least two serious symptoms, I've listed them in this bug entry:

For the colours problem, I started a solution. I think it's quite far towards finished, but I have no time to complete it or debug it. I'll attach it here if anyone wants to look and maybe finish it.

The problem is that each person's copy of the FreeColor class isn't kept synchronised if non-hosts invite. The solution works by sending both colorIDs of the inviter and the invitee. The receiver then constructs their own FreeColor with this information. The color of the inviter is added correctly to the invitee's session, then the color of everyone else in session will be added correctly later because the invitee will have access to their colorIDs via the User object.

Summary

The FreeColors class is not instantiated in non-hosts. This leads to a NPE.

NOTE: This is only intended as a fix for the NPE. When testing you will find that there are further problems with the colors. It seems that the assumption that the inviter is a host is littered throughout the code and causing problems.

I begun to investigate, but it turned out to be a bigger problem than I have time for. I will post my progress on the dpp-devel list.
