i grubert tried it about a year ago and stopped because i wanted something
working and did not need pure python. dreamcatcher picked up the reportlab
writer in may, so contact him for newer news.
the reason why i stopped and switched to latex is, placing texts on a
canvas is only the start, you need to know where to place, this needs
font knowledge, hyphenation, ..., page breaks ...
if it is only for faxing one could reduce the requirements which is always
