----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Jim Sager <jam...@ya...>To: "cry...@li..." <cry...@li...>Sent: Tuesday, August 6, 2019, 11:51:56 PM EDTSubject: I really could use help. Crystalspace 3x3 Matrix to Unity3d 4x4 matrix question. I found converting CrystalSpace3d matrix to Unity3d matrix results in almost the same rotation animation m11->m00m12->m01 ...m33->m22 this Matrix converted to Euler gives( z,y approximately -x) where it should be(x,y,z) How should I convert Crystalspace3d matricies to Unity3d matricies. Subject: [CsMain] Thanks for the experience Hello, I never released a game in CrystalSpace, but all you guys were helpful and supportive. My fighter game is not bad as it is, but it requires everyone to be port forwarded due to its p2p protocol. I think p2p will be the way of the distant future especially when ipv6 comes out as the standard and everyone can have a dedicated IP so portforwarding will not be needed. P2p scales at less than n, while client server scales at n^2. So if you can manage a hack resisted environment, and have a customer support to ban hackers, it can support thousands or millions of action players while client server will struggle to move from 64 players to 128. I moved onto Unity. Now this letter is sounding like a breakup letter. LOL. I encourage you to try it. I may finish a game in just one month of having no prior Unity experience. Just do the tutorials until you get the hang of it. If you want to see my new project, go to www.reddit.com/r/starfightergeneral I would be up to add anyone as a beta tester this weekend hopefully. PM me on reddit or email me. The game plays like a competitive xwing vs tiefighter. It probably won't be super fun over the Internet. The reflex orientednes of the game means it may be relegated to a Lan game, but that is okay! A game that takes one month and could be epsorts material is okay if it makes no internet monies. I may revist CrystalFighter though. I'm thinking of making it joint and muscle force restricted so it is like Toribash. Make your own moves in the dojo. Then go fight some single player. Then go fight some multiplayer. If that game doesn't have enough latency tolerance, it can be lan too. The problem is that MMORPG can't be done in a lan... and maybe as a game designer, I've moved on from wanting to even make one because I'm getting back to my reflex/twitch roots of action oriented games. I find mmos are too much: Insert time, gain power. Maybe instead I should be trying to make esports possible games for Lan. Anyway, thank you all. Keep in touch via email or reddit. Maybe we can work on some games together if you want. I have an idea list of about 60 game ideas that keeps growing. I'll share it if you want to make some games with me. ,GoodNewsJim |

Hello, I have a question, but don't just respond in crystal-main, also send to Jam...@ya... because for some reason, I don't get mail from the mailing list anymore. My question is this: What files do I need to accompany my .exe to put on other computers? I copied all the .dlls from the CrystalSpace directory with my install, but it doesn't work. I am getting this error: LoadLibraryEx(c:\crystalfighter\vfs.dll) error 126: The specified module could not be found. SCF_WARNING: factory returned a null instance for crystalspace.kernel.vfs WARNING: could not load plugin 'crystalspace.kernerl.vfs' Again, reply also to Jam...@ya... Any help is appreciated. I remember distributing this just required me to copy a lot of files with it, but I forget the general idea of which ones. |

Hello, I'm moving full swing into Crystal Fighter. It is a game like Tekken, but instead of just 2 players, it supports up to 5000. I want to make a MMO with live game masters. What goes down with live game masters will be saved on youtube like Deagon Ball Z episodes. The world will have kingdoms to conquer and build. At first it is just going to be a big beatemup arena to demonstrate the tech and get teammembers on board. If anyone wants to team up now with me casually or intently, get ahold of me as reddit.com/u/goodnewsjimdotcom And check out the dev page at www.reddit.com/r/crystalfighter Thank you, Goodnewsjim formerly CrazyJim The game used to be called Roaming Dragon |

Hello everyone, my name is Christian. This is my first post on the mailing list and I have two short questions for the community, which I hope they may be able to answer. For our software project we would like to embed the CrystalSpace engine into our VS 2010 C++ Qt application. So my first question is if anybody has experience with that. Did somebody try that before? Is it possible? What do I have to consider for that? In the CS tutorials I found only instructions to call the csApplicationRunner function or the Run function from the main method of a VS 2010 C++ console application. So I am wondering if there is a recommended way to start the engine or call csApplicationRunner from a standard Win32 application (not a console application). I would like to start the engine after a certain button-press event. Which values should be set for the argc and argv parameters of the Run() function in order to provide a safe and stable run of the CS engine? Best, christian |

Hello, I was wondering if a familiar face that remembers GoodNewsJim or CrazyJim from back in the day wants to take a look at my code. I have a 3d fighter like Tekken and the networking is swell, and so is the fighting, but, my collision detection for jumping means sometimes it doesn't jump everytime. Sometimes it gets stuck on the ground. If a familiar name wants to see my code to help me over this, I'd be stoked. I'm not too far away from a pretty fun game, but collision detection in 3d is soooo hard for me. I spent like six years on this code. If you could help me out over this, maybe someday I'll get you money if I ever get paid myself. Promise not to redistribute the code or use compiled results in any way publically, and if you're a name I remember, I'll email you the source. ,GoodNewsJim |

It's pretty difficult to diagnose the issue without seeing the config.log (and even that might not tell us anything) or the actual configure script you're invoking. |

(pasted from: http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=42174) As I realized now, configure script produces config.log, but delete it after executing Makefile commands stage. Strangely, on this stage configure perform build of CS, as there are compiler output in the log (but not in the console). After that (it take long enough), script ask: The authenticity of host 'crystalspace3d.org (217.115.131.45)' can't be established. RSA key fingerprint is 9b:55:7a:fe:ea:aa:0e:71:ea:74:65:da:0a:06:91:15. When you invoke he configure script, it should create a config.log file in the current directory, which contains much more detail about what the configure script is doing behind the scenes. The operation of the configure script should be entirely local, so it doesn't make sense for it to be attempting network access. In particular, it should not be trying to sign into the crystalspace3d.org machine as user 'crystal' (which is a user account for automated maintenance of the project). |
