If you are having trouble compiling the IPC module for redhat, you should
attempt to find a precompiled RPM to install. When I googled for IPC perl and
RPM, I found the following page that has the IPC modules already compiled for
redhat. I don't run redhat, so I have not used the site, but it looks pretty
complete.

It seems to have a ton of perl modules compiled into RPM's.
Also, since you are using the supported version of redhat, you may be able to
get the RPM directly from the redhat network. I can't seem to find a way of
searching the modules that they have, but since you are paying for it you
should check that out. If redhat has the modules, you should try them first.
If you don't get anywhere with the RPM's, then you should send us the output of
the complete CPAN session.
