Hi Guys,
I tried implementing the sample check provided in writing checks
article.
I successfully implemented this check. There are couple of things which
i
noticed after doing this.
1. When i include the option "Include rule names in violation messages",
the rule name which gets displayed for my check is 'Unknown'. How can i
change it to the name of my class or any other name which i feel should
be appropriate for the check i am developing? I tried including a
comment
as well as javadoc style comment to my class; but in vain.
2. How can i make a check part of the pre-defined set provided along
with
the plugin. Can this be done only be submitting the check to the
Checkstyle CVS? Now my check appears in the 'Other' section. I feel it
would be appropriate if it gets displayed as part of one of the
pre-defined list. Can this be done by making any modifications to the
code?
3. When i open my rule through the preference menu in eclipse, i see my
rule displayed in 'Other section'. But when i click on the rule, the
rule-description does not display any description. Wht should i do to
display the description. I was of the opinion that if i add a javadoc
comment for my class it would be displayed here in the description area.
TIA
