Hi,
Thanks for the patch, and the idea. I have fallen victim to that
same issue. I added some tests so that it asks the recursion
question if the number of files is very large.
I have integrated ideas from your patch into semanticdb-system.el
which will appear in the 1.0 release which should be out soon.
