Summary: Uniformize names

Initial Comment:
My bibliographic database comes from a variety of sources, so
frequently the same author name appears in several slight 
or not so slight variations. I find this extremely annoying.
Would it be possible to automate the painful process of
uniformizing names? For starters, I would be satisfied if
I could do a global search-and-replace restricted to author
names.

Summary: Automatically turn DOI field into URL

Initial Comment:
The Digital Object Identifier (DOI) can be used to locate a paper online. Bibtex entries imported from PubMed often include the DOI field. It would be nice if I can click on the DOI URL to download the paper. Given a DOI 10.1073/pnas.0603553103, the corresponding URL would be http://dx.doi.org/10.1073/pnas.0603553103.
