no no, I only tested/hacked the demo programs from Freescale, not the
gstreamer plugins.
gstreamer was reported to me to be very slow and was not (at that time)
integrated in Buildroot.
Now we begin to support recent Buildroot versions that integrate
gstreamer support. But Freescale aren't integrated yet.
Currently you still have to use LTIB to build rootfs with i.MX27
optimized gstreamer plugins.

Seems cool, but it is to expensive for most people I think. USB
interface is not optimal on such embedded processors as it requires a
lot of CPU power. i.MX27 has a CSI interface more suitable to connect
camera devices.

Now I have found a new module that may be available for a longer time...

I will also try some USB low cost webcams for people only wanting to
take photos and not make Hi-Res videos.
