Hia Folks,
now - I got a little Problem with that system.
Having followed the instructions to get the driver built - I however don't get
any informations of the Driver on any interface.
Here's what I've done so far.
Running a Debian Sarge 3.1a System, I had to take a kernel from unstable and
choosed 2.6.12-1-386. Installed the sources and recompiled it using the
Kernel-Config as found on:
http://www.solsys.org/mod.php?mod=faq&op=match&display_order=section§ion=Epia5000&display_option=expand#63
for the 2.6.12-4 kernel, but adapted according to the
http://accessrunner.sourceforge.net/driver.shtml page.
Of course - the usbatm-20050216.tar.bz2 was unpacked and set into the
driver/usb/atm directory amd configured into the kernel as module.
After booting that system - everything seemed fine.
Here the dmesg output:
DEV: registering device: ID = '2-2'
PM: Adding info for usb:2-2
bus usb: add device 2-2
bound device '2-2' to driver 'usb'
DEV: registering device: ID = '2-2:1.0'

cxacru 2-2:1.0: found firmware cxacru-fw.bin
CLASS: registering class device: ID = '2-2:1.0'
Looking at the back of the Box - the 3rd Led Flashes for a while - then stays
steadily lighted - showing the Link with my provider is OK.
However - when looking at the informations of the devices - there is a no-go.
gw:~# cat /proc/net/atm/devices
Itf Type ESI/"MAC"addr AAL(TX,err,RX,err,drop) ... [refcnt]
gw:~# ls -l /proc/net/atm/cxacru*
ls: /proc/net/atm/cxacru*: No such file or directory
As there is no valid device detected - the system does not provide a
network-interface to bind the pppdaemon ...
An clues ?
Here the Module stuff (Note that I'm still using pppoe using an external modem
to send the E-Mails...) -unloaded it to dump the lsmod list:

PS: Is there a decent Howto on how to set the System up ?
I found an Italian page (thanks-god I do speak italian) but I don't know if
that applies also to my adsl-modem... :)
